Everyone in the hangar froze when billionaire Richard Vale pointed at the grease-covered mechanic.
“You’re fired!” he shouted. “And you’ll pay for every minute my jet stays grounded!”
The mechanic, Daniel, didn’t argue. He simply opened the black folder in his hands and quietly checked one final page.
Richard stepped closer. “Are you deaf? Get out!”
Daniel finally looked up.
“I can’t approve this aircraft for takeoff.”
Richard laughed. “You don’t approve anything here.”
Then Daniel turned the folder around.
Inside was a federal inspection report showing a dangerous defect in the jet’s fuel system—one that Richard’s own executives had ordered the maintenance team to ignore to avoid delaying a multimillion-dollar deal.
The hangar went silent.
Richard’s face changed.
“You have no idea who you’re dealing with,” he whispered.
Daniel closed the folder.
“That’s the problem,” he replied. “You never asked who I was.”
At that moment, two officials stepped forward. Daniel wasn’t an ordinary mechanic. He was the aviation safety investigator secretly assigned to the company after months of suspicious maintenance records.
The jet was grounded immediately. The executives who had falsified reports were questioned, and Richard’s company faced a full investigation.
Before leaving, Daniel looked at the billionaire and said:
“You tried to fire the one man who was stopping you from boarding a dangerous plane.”
